Lamp Shades

Lampshades are an integral part of any kind of lamp and give the lamps their decorative uniqueness and grandeur. Lampshades are easy to use and can be cleaned, changed or replaced as and when necessary. However, the fancy lampshades are very delicate and require proper handling to maintain their appearance. The antique lampshades of the early Victorian periods are highly valued and favorites with the collectors. These lampshades portray the typical fringed style used in clothes for the shades and are known as Victorian fringes.

A collection of lampshades of different make, model, purpose and price can be found online. Buyers can view online catalogs or visit the local lampshade dealers for buying or replacing lampshades. However, the owners may change their lampshades with the changing time and fashion, reflecting their personal choice.

DANGEROUS! - S. Rose -
I purchased one of these from Walmart for my daughter's bedroom. One day it quit working, and I took the screws out of the bottom, expecting to have to change the lightbulb. The inside of the plastic was partially MELTED and blackened. I was horrified that this fire hazard had been in my four-year-old's room for months.

I looked it up on the web, and now the product comes with a warning that the lamp is only for "temporary" use of up to 30 DAYS! Who wants to buy a lamp / nightlight that they have to toss out after thirty days of use?!

This lamp is cute, but it's a fire hazard and not worth the risk or cash.

High Bay Lighting Fixtures

Low Bay Lighting Fixtures
This type of lighting is more commonly used in warehouses and churches or areas where the ceiling heights are between 15 to 20 feet. This lighting gives the maximum amount of light without putting out too much glare.

Flood Lighting
This lighting is commonly used outdoors and also uses HID technology. These lights must be very bright to cover large areas such as football fields or loading areas. These lights are normally quite cheap and can be mounted on buildings, on the ground, or on poles.

Street Lights
These lights are installed on tall poles to provide a broad spread of light for the night time. They can be seen on walkways, streets and in parking lots. The poles that these lights are installed on are normally between 6 to 13 feet high and have to be able to withstand damp and wet weather conditions. Street lights are normally programmed to shut off during daylight hours.

Lighted Advert Signs
Lights that are used to illuminated advertising signs are a great way to get your business to stand out from the crowd. These commercial lights are designed to attract the attention of passers and achieve this by using brightly coloured neon lights. Some signs blink and change colour to increase their attractiveness to potential customers.

Linear Fluorescent Lighting
This form of commercial lighting uses low wattage T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes. Fluorescent tubes are very energy efficient and lead to great cost reduction when used.
